Spiritual & Natural experiences that facilitate inner growth.

Please see the 'Pages in this Section' area at the bottom, that is where my main hiking experiences, etc. are written up.

To me, following Sri Chinmoy's path is an opportunity for self-transcendence & spiritual progress. I find that hiking up mountains gives me the chance to experience both of these in the following ways. While hiking, it is possible to forget about the day-to-day stresses and troubles, and focus on my inner existence, and experience peace from both within & without. Also, I listen to spiritual music some of the time while I exercise, and that fills me with incredible energy.

The self-transcendence part of my activities in nature is that I have in the past had problems with my legs, ankles, knees & shins. I am trying to increase my physical capacity so that I can live a richer & fuller life. This gives me a terrific feeling of self-worth & health, and I know I am doing the right thing when I exercise. Plus, I love rock-climbing & playing ultimate frisbee.    When I moved to Vancouver, BC, Canada I was able to hike in the mountains much more frequently. It was totally worthwhile for me to change my life around by following my inner intuition to move to a city that supports my own particular sports interests.   As of November 2012, I work at Cambrian flower importers in Montreal, QC.   For information on local activities with meditation classes where I may be found, please visit  https://www.montrealmeditation.org/   The first photo of me on the left was taken in the Adirondacks, NY. The second photo of the snowy peaks was taken from the second-highest mountain in Colorado. The third photo was taken at the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Africa. This is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest free-standing mountain in the world (not part of a mountain range, ie. volcano). Continuously working towards higher goals, improving my fitness, strength and ability is what Self-Transcendence means to me.

I hope this page helps inspire people to get out there and DO something physical! Have lots of fun, be careful.
