Understanding the Mind...Why??

As I sit here and write about the power of the mind I begin to reflect on its power to control every action in my life. It is one very powerful tool: An indecisive, restless, complicated and controlling creature.
I am constantly struggling with myself to do the most basic and necessary tasks as my mind finds excuses to hold me back. Sometimes I listen to its pathetic requests and other times I do not. Why I listen to my mind I do not know, as the road is never an easy one to follow…
It is in these times that I turn to my teacher Sri Chinmoy. The clarity his writings bring to my pathetic struggles clears the road for further progress, brings me back to reality and gives me the opportunity to go forward with confidence.
