Nabhoniya's Homepage

Welcome! Nabhoniya is a member of the Auckland Sri Chinmoy Centre in New Zealand and an artist whose work is inspired by the life and teachings of meditation teacher Sri Chinmoy.

Elysium

Elysium (iliz-) n. (Gk Myth.) 1. Abode of the blessed after death; place, state of ideal happiness. Hence adj. Elysian.

Painting by Nabhoniya

Nabhoniya has been a student of the meditation teacher Sri Chinmoy for the last thirteen years. A core member of the staff at The Blue Bird Vegetarian Café in Auckland, Nabhoniya is a busy mother of two teenage children who also have a keen interest in meditation and the spiritual life.

Nabhoniya's art draws its inspiration from Sri Chinmoy's philosophy that the inner world of infinite beauty, goodness and purity within each individual is more meaningful and more real than the outer material world.

Sri Chinmoy expresses his creativity and profound inspiration through a variety of genre—writing, drawing, painting, musical composition. His own art he refers to as Jharna Kala—‘fountain art’—art springing spontaneously from the source.

To see a piece of artwork is a pleasant experience.
To feel a piece of artwork is a permanent realisation.

- Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy uses all of his creative work to communicate to the world his aspirations for a oneness-world-family; for peace, harmony and integrity of mind and spirit.
