I must begin my life
Once again
By dreaming the impossible.

The Soul's Beauty and Light

One time I was meditating with Sri Chinmoy and many of his students in New York. Suddenly and unexpectedly I felt as though I was far, far above all of the difficulties, short comings and mediocrities of my life...

"My Sweet Lord,
Do tell me when I shall be able to see
That clear deer of Yours
Which you have kept secretly
Inside my heart-garden.
I am eagerly looking forward
To seeing my precious deer,
For I want to feel that someday
It’s inner speed and beauty
Shall be mine."

- Sri Chinmoy.

One time I was meditating with Sri Chinmoy and many of his students in New York. Suddenly and unexpectedly I felt as though I was far, far above all of the difficulties, short comings and mediocrities of my life. My life and the world seemed to be miles below me. I was far above the world, up in the clouds and I was speeding very, very fast but at the same time I was more sure and powerful than I have ever felt before. I realised that it was my soul that I was experiencing and that it’s reality was eons away from my body's reality.

At first I felt sadness because of the vast distance between what my soul was like and the tangled web of my physical existence on earth. Since then it has dawned on me how – with the sacred combination of the seeker's small effort to live spiritually and the spiritual Master's guidance – the soul is undoubtedly and indomitably leading you to the state of oneness with its own beauty and light.
