Bored to death?

...need a permanent cure for boredom?

Try the spiritual life.

Since embarking on a spiritual Path, outwardly I have endured many tedious situations, but never once been bored...

...for the spiritual life is the inner constant God-quest. No matter what is happening (or not happening) around us, there is always urgent work required within: so much to explore, discover, confront, process, marvel at, be grateful for, or just take in...

The core of the spiritual life is meditation, that state of simply 'being' in silent stillness. Meditation is most accessible precisely when there is nothing happening, so empty moments in our outer life - moments which might ordinarily produce boredom - become choice opportunities for inner activity.

There is always inner stillness to practice - there are new depths to plumb - our soul-child is always there to be sought and played with - the heart-garden to explore and frolic in - deepest wisdom awaits assimilation - cosmic power is there to imbibe - the Inner Pilot offering private audiences with Truth - perfection tutoring us in its dance-steps - there are guided tours to the abodes of softness - free tastings at the sweetness-factory - inner music to thrill to - inspiration performing magic in the atoms of our eyes, while aspiration spirits our hearts off to uncharted skies - our Lover Supreme lavishing rapture upon us - a special mirror reveals ever-entrancing beauty - Infinity calmly sculpts our inner smile - twining us in its fondmost embrace, Eternity swathes us in supernal delight - our Beloved Supreme igniting our muse of glowing adoration - Immortality bedecks us in lustrous new finery - our future glorious fulfillment pressing in upon us - the while our true Self stirs in its slumber, bursting-eager for our full Awakening...

Bring on idle moments! How precious-thrilling-fulfilling they are, withal how Real...

Inspiring post Prachar. Hopefully the death that exists due to ignorance, fear, frustration & etc., will itself be bored to death in the not too distant future!

Eloquent expressions of the inexpressible.

In my teenage youth, I sat in my forest home. It was summer holiday and the next school bus was at least one month away. This was before MTV and internet brougth "civilisation" to every corner of the globe. I unfortunately (or perhaps: fortunately) uttered a powerful prayer: "Dear God, give me Anything but boredom!" And after embarking on the meditation journey, I must say that I have had lots of experiences, good and bad, both inner and outer, but never boredom!

No comment is really necessary. I sit here silently, trying my inadequate best to appreciate the heights and depths of this post...
