Inspirational gift

I have found over the last couple of years since the books release that I invariably find myself chatting with someone at the airport or to the person sitting next to me on one of the flights.
And as it always seems to transpire I happily give the spare copy of Heart-Garden to a fellow traveller. Time and time again I have found that in giving such an inspirational book away I am in some small but powerful way helping them to rediscover the peace, wisdom and inspiration that lies within us all.
My last trip in August 2007 was no exception and I gave a copy to a lady I had only the briefest conversation with at breakfast, but had in that brief time discussed meditation and its benefits, and as was the case with her, helped her identify some principles she wanted to adopt and changes that she needed to make in her life.
She was thrilled to have received the gift and immediately opened the book and began to read out loud the poems that touched her heart.
I saw her again after the trans Pacific flight at the luggage collection centre in Sydney when she came over to thank me again for the thoughtful gift.
Such small actions of self-giving give me the greatest joy and happiness, knowing that the soul-stirring aphorisms of Sri Chinmoy have found and expanded yet another seeker's heart.
