Who are you? Have you ever stopped and pondered this question, or is it too difficult to contemplate. Let me be sincere when suggesting that you may not be who you think yourself to be! Unless of course you have been sincerely meditating for a number of years.

Please let me continue..

You, or the person you think yourself to be may not really be you, the real you, the deeper you! Your understanding of who you are is undoubtedly created from surface opinions, experiences, feelings, conditionings and awarenesses created by the shallow reality of your physical mind, which by its very nature is limited as it is dominated by the ego.

Always on the defensive the ego seeks constant identification and gratification to prove itself, to give itself stature, identity and importance. You will be the witness to that when you hear individuals refer to themselves with great importance as "me" or "I". In other instances the ego needs to feel superior, to be in control, to dominate, to be the loudest, fastest or best. These activities create division, unhappiness and insecurity where fear, intimidation, doubt, uncertainity and frustration can be felt by others and even by the ego centered person themselves. To prop itself up and to protect itself the ego seeks reassurance by associating itself with other strong ego's. The ego is rarely still, it creates a false agitated reality where thoughts and awarenesses are predominantly focused in the past or future where unrealistic fantasies, desires, wants, needs, hopes, what if's, why did's, how could they's, if only's, maybe's or it will be better when, preoccupy the thoughts of individuals.

You are far more than the limited insecure reality that the mind's ego creates for you. The Real you awaits your conscious presence, the Real in you is unbounded. Its existence seeks only one thing, full and permanent unification with its Source. It sees all as one, there is no competition here, only oneness as Sri Chinmoy terms it. The Real you is an embracing reality intrinsically united to the highest universal consciousness. A vibrant free-flowing energy that is fully realised and felt in the timeless nature of the present moment, a silent realm free of the insecurity of the ego.

If your life is not fulfiling or satisfying then may I suggest you explore and practice the transforming benefits of meditation to give you the capacity to spend increasingly longer periods in the present moment, or spiritual heart where the Real in you exists. You may start by logging onto our Online Meditation Course to commence your practice. Here compassion, fulfilment, kindness, sincerity, happiness, understanding, harmony and wisdom shall become your new and lasting reality.
