Simahin ... Welcome to my Web Home

Here are some glimpses from life's road. A defining moment was the 26th October 1981 when a door opened to a very rare opportunity, which has become the great privilege of my life ... the day Sri Chinmoy accepted me as his disciple.

'The silence-profundity of the mountain reminds us of our own source - peace in infinite measure' ... Sri Chinmoy

Simahin (pronounced She-mar-hin) is the beautiful, Bengali spiritual name that Sri Chinmoy gave me on 25th April 1984. Simahin means 'Boundless inner aspiration flames to please the Beloved Supreme in His own way', and it represents the main characteristic of my soul or my best quality if you like.

A few words about my relationship with Sri Chinmoy

From the beginning, I have been both awed and humbled by the immense power, simplicity, purity and freedom in Sri Chinmoy's life.

Home Sri Chinmoy 95 A remarkably talented renaissance-like figure, he sleeplessly and devotedly uses his extraordinary vision and creative geniuses, across the worlds of music, poetry, art, literature and sports, to inspire, uplift and touch the hearts of others.

The vastness scope, lofty consciousness, myriad diversity and prolific output of Sri Chinmoy's contributions are breathtaking, staggering and unique - unparalleled in our time - and it may well be centuries before his place amongst the greatest spiritual luminaries, who have walked upon this earth, is fully appreciated.

I have found in Sri Chinmoy a modest, humble, divinely intoxicated man, whose unceasing compassion, affection and love of God has quietly and powerfully touched me countless times in many special ways - enabling me to feel a celestially-beautiful, serene, guiding light inside my heart, and inspiring me to see the possibilities of my own life.

Generally, the spiritual teacher/ disciple relationship is not well understood. And sadly, words will always fail to adequately describe the true nature of the enchanting, luminous, inner fragrance of constant love and concern that is the essence of my connection with Sri Chinmoy (whom I affectionately call Guru).

Nevertheless, I look forward to sharing with you anecdotes, stories and images from my journey thus far, and particularly, some moments from this wonderful, poignant, blessing-filled relationship, and the life transformation that has accompanied it.
