Meditation exercise 4 - Mountain Summit
Sitting quietly in the mountains on a still clear morning the beauty of the distant peaks and valleys unfold in the early morning light. Here your meditative experiences blossom...
The beauty and vastness of a mountain range -

The tranquil silence of a mountain stream -
Have
you climbed to the summit of a tall mountain and been struck by the
silence, beauty and peace? Let's recreate this awareness and expand it
into a deeper meditation experience. While focusing on your spiritual heart imagine yourself sitting quietly on a high mountain summit. The air is cool and still, the sky clear. Gazing out to the distant peaks and down into the mist filled valleys, your spirits rise and you are flooded with a deep inner silence and peace. In the pre-dawn light all is still and quiet as a new day is unfolding in the pristine wilderness. Allow each incoming breath to deepen the beauty of this experience. Hold your awareness of these inspirations, letting them slowly expand.
High in the mounatins all is silent, except for the sounds of a clear stream gently flowing close by. After its timeless journey the mountain stream silently flows into the still blue depths of a vast ocean, becoming one with its tranquility and vastness.
Free from the ceaseless chatter of the mind, deep within the still depths of our spiritual heart we possess the purest consciousness, the soul. At any time through meditative visualisation we can re-immerse oursleves in the soul's purity, vastness and silent reality by observing Mother Nature. When you meditatively gaze at a mountain range, quietly listen to the gentle sounds of a flowing stream, or dive into the tranquil depths of a calm ocean you witness your soul's reality when identifying with the silence, beauty, vastness and tranquility of the Creator and all within His creation. This is the beauty, power and heights of meditation.
Nature's beauty helps us
To be as vast as possible,
As peaceful as possible
And as pure as possible.
