Cycling
Cycling, like running, is one of those activities that is enjoyed by millions of people. From hard-core racing professionals to commuting and recreational cyclists - people all over the world love to ride their 'bikes'.
Indeed, it is a cheap form of transportation that certainly keeps one fit - some nations still rely on the humble bicycle to move the masses. An errand-cyclist himself during his years in a spiritual community in India, Sri Chinmoy once said of cycling: "While we are cycling, we are reminding ourselves of evolution, of how the world is evolving in cycles. When we think of our planet, we think of a wheel turning; our life also is evolving like a wheel."
In the 1970's, Sri Chinmoy inspired the creation of a cycling team that participated in a number of events including the 24 Hour Pepsi Cycle Marathon in New York's Central Park. A number of his students race cycles; some compete in multi-discipline sports such as the triathlon, and many just enjoy recreational cycling as a supplement to their running. Here we present a few links to pages on the topic of cycling.
