Playing the flute, Irish culture and music, Calvin and Hobbes, a child-like heart and of course spirituality—themes grasped with both hands and heart at Shardul.co.nz, the web diary New Zealand Sri Chinmoy Centre member Shardul Dillicar, and online testimonial to a more than two decades long devotion to meditation and the spiritual life.
Shardul became a student of Sri Chinmoy in 1984, and he relates this tale and many others at Shardul.co.nz, including the meaning and significance of the Bengali spiritual name given to him by Sri Chinmoy:
“You may have noticed that I have a name that is of Indian origin. It is Bengali to be precise—Sri Chinmoy’s native tongue. Shardul is a name offered to me by Sri Chinmoy in 1988. Many of his students have what we call a ‘soul’s name’—names that encapsulate the meaning, the essence, the message of our souls.”
