Sri Chinmoy Gives Hot Air Balloons A Lift!
Hot air balloons usually give people rides, but 75-year-old fitness champion and world harmony leader Sri Chinmoy celebrated the arrival of spring by lifting up two huge hot air balloons with one arm at the beautiful Hunterdon Hills Playhouse in New Jersey early on Wednesday morning.
First Sri Chinmoy lifted a 140 foot (42.67 metre) tall bunny rabbit weighing 369 pounds (167.4 kg), followed by a multi-coloured 90 foot (27.43 metre) tall balloon weighing 397 pounds (180.1 kg) on its first flight ever—including the pilot and basket.
Today's lifts astounded Tom Robins, who piloted the balloons today and made all the arrangements for the event. He exclaimed, "In over two decades of flying balloons, this is the most wonderful and uplifting experience I have ever had. I do not know where Sri Chinmoy's power comes from, but I have felt it today and it is spectacular!"
Sri Chinmoy explains that he lifts huge objects and heavy weights to inspire people to fulfill all their dreams. He says, "If we remain in a childlike heart, then age can never be a barrier and there is no end to our progress."
Speaking of Sri Chinmoy's one-arm seated lifts of a 575 pound (260.8 kg) dumbbell in the past few days, longtime registrar of the British Amateur Weightlifters Association Jim Smith stated: "Sri Chinmoy is giving back to people the importance of having the mind, body and spirit together. No other human being on earth has ever lifted over 3 times their own bodyweight, even with two hands and while standing!"
