I prefer, Lord, my prayer to my meditation
For when I pray, Lord, I feel You must pay closer attention

Except for You, Lord, no one loves me and no one ever can
For all others, Lord, only know me as I presently am

3.

Lord, before You punish me and my good name thereby curse
Let me provide the names of others, Lord, who have done much worse

4.

Only think of me once, Lord, and that will be fine
But let me determine, Lord, the exact place and time

5.

If to You, Lord, I am not precious, then let it be so
But if someone else is more precious, Lord, kindly don't let me know

6.

Lord, I need Your help to sort my life out
Beginning, Lord, with the many things I can not live without

7.

I will wait, Lord, until You�re ready, to be called to Your service
For presently, Lord, Your requirements seem frankly too laborious

8.

Allow me, Lord, to please You in infinite ways
And for each way all I ask, Lord, is infinite praise

9.

Though into my heart, Lord, I know that you see
Please use Your vision, Lord, to look for someone worse than me

10.

You surround Yourself only, Lord, with the seekers of perfection
Let me aspire, Lord, to prove, each rule admits of exception
