Working On It

Working On It

During the early days of Guru's Jharna-Kala painting, sometimes Guru used to paint all night. Different people were asked to number the paintings throughout the night as Guru painted, and I was lucky enough to be there one night. Guru was in such a sweet mood. He was painting away, chatting with us, and began to ask me questions about my older sister and my baby sister, neither of whom are on our path. We were up most of the night and I got home very late. I slept a little in the morning, and then Pranika apologetically woke me up. She told me that while I was at Guru's house last night, she received a sad message from our older sister, who rarely contacts us. She wanted us to know that my little sister, who had been visiting her, had crashed into a wall and broken her collarbone while riding her bike down their steep driveway. Pranika asked, "Do you think we should tell Guru?" I said, "It's probably not necessary, because last night Guru, out of the blue, was asking about our two sisters. I think he already knows about the accident and is working on it."
