Free Meditation Classes - Cambridge

"When we start meditating in silence, right from the beginning we feel the bottom of a sea within us and without. The life of activity movement and restlessness is on the surface, but deep below, underneath our human life, there is poise and silence."

- Sri Chinmoy

Our introductory courses in meditation are held at a central venue in Cambridge, and usually take place three times each year (beginning in February, June and October). Please contact us if you would like to reserve a place on the next course, and we will get in touch with you once the dates have been finalised.

Our courses begin with a basic introduction to practical techniques including concentration, visualisation and use of a mantra.  As the course progresses, we aim to encourage each seeker to establish their own personal meditation practice. We also examine a variety of subjects which are auxiliary to the practice of meditation (such as music, the visual arts, poetry and drama) and we touch upon the importance of physical fitness, diet and lifestyle to general well-being.

As an additional service we can provide short meditation courses to order. If you are able to gather together a group of at least seven people (for example, friends or colleagues) who would like to learn to meditate, then we will stage a short course especially for your group. This can be done at any time of year and is also free of charge. Please use the enquiry form to contact us in the first instance.
