Free Meditation Classes - Cambridge
"When we start meditating in silence, right from the beginning we feel the bottom of a sea within us and without. The life of activity movement and restlessness is on the surface, but deep below, underneath our human life, there is poise and silence."
Our introductory courses, which are entitled “Meditation, the Art of Self-Discovery”, are held at a central venue in Cambridge, and will usually take place three times each year (beginning in March, July and October). Please contact us if you would like to reserve a place on the next course, and we will get in touch with you once the dates have been finalised. Alternatively, you can look in Cambridge Central Library in the Lion's Yard shopping centre where you will find our leaflets on display in the foyer for about one month before each course begins.
Many different instructors give meditation classes in the Cambridge area. Some have been meditating for as little as two years, some for as long as 27 years. In our full set of classes, you will usually hear from five or six different instructors. We feel that all of our instructors have something unique to offer and that the course benefits greatly from this diversity of approach. As the course progresses, we aim to encourage each seeker to establish their own personal meditation practice. We also examine a variety of subjects which are auxiliary to the practice of meditation (such as music, the visual arts, poetry and drama) and we touch upon the importance of physical fitness, diet and lifestyle to general well-being.
As an additional service we can provide short meditation courses to order. If you are able to gather together a group of at least seven people (for example, friends or colleagues) who would like to learn to meditate, then we will stage a short course especially for your group. This can be done at any time of year and is also free of charge. Please use the enquiry form to contact us in the first instance.
