and before the flowers of eden
and before the flowers of eden
fields ablaze with golden firebuds
bursting pistils bright with pollen
planets ringed with fiery insects
hornets diving burning meadows
sunlight flowing dense as lava
in the brightness before the flowers of eden
glowing shapes just flaming skyward
roaring grasses, rivers of sun
an incandescence of bees, humming
like waterfalls
ecstatic songbirds plunging, gorging
in splendor,
throats exploding with light,
symphonies of fire
...
Intimations of dawn.
The empty meadow waiting, stirring
with fullness
a vague readiness
the luminous pregnancy of being.
Intuitions of a new race:
thoughts falling like rain
on the flowers of eden.
