Spontaneous Healing

Spontaneous Healing

A short while ago I became quite ill. I was exhausted and could do nothing but sleep for several days. Each morning I woke up and hoped that I would feel better, but I was met with the same fatigue and flu-like symptoms. It happened that several people from our Sri Chinmoy Centre were sick at that time. I was getting concerned about work because I teach junior high school, and the Thursday of the week I was sick, we were to host a large dinner and show at our school, for which I was largely responsible. I didn’t know how I was going to make it. I was still sick on Wednesday night and even had to miss meditation because of it, so I did not hold out much hope of being able to be at school the next day. All I could do was pray. I miraculously woke up Thursday morning bursting with joy and energy! Grateful that I was granted my health back, I went to work that morning at 7:30 and didn’t finish until 10:30 p.m., but I felt fresh and energetic. I felt grateful for being able to accomplish all of my tasks with ease and joy, but I did not consciously realise how completely Guru was responsible for my spontaneous healing. That realisation came a few days later when I found out that on Wednesday night, the night before my long day at school, our Centre leader had phoned to ask Sri Chinmoy for protection for our Centre, because so many of us had been sick. It was then that I felt the full impact of what Guru had done.
