Tears Of Love

During Sri Chinmoy's August Celebrations in New York, I started feeling pain in one of my teeth. My cheek started swelling more and more, and I realised that an abscess was growing in my jaw. In the beginning I refused to take any antibiotics, but I knew from past experience that it was only this kind of medicine that could cure this problem immediately. I was thinking that if the problem was the result of my karma, I would just accept the suffering, but then the pain became even greater. I went to bed to try to get some rest, but then suddenly I got up and went out, determined to buy some antibiotics because the pain was so great. On the way to the pharmacy I went by Annam Brahma. A friend of mine was guarding the door, and he told me that Guru was inside the restaurant. I was so happy—I went inside and started meditating. After some time Guru appeared, and when I looked at his eyes, I knew that I would not need to buy antibiotics. I felt that my abscess was dissolving and that the pain was decreasing. I immediately felt that I would be better. When I returned home, my eyes were full of tears of love and gratitude.
