Guiding And Protecting Us

Guiding And Protecting Us

Once I was conducting a meditation class when one of the seekers approached me at the end of the class. She was a middle-aged Austrian woman who had some psychic powers. She said that when I stood up and commenced talking at the beginning of the class, a tall man wearing a turban stood behind me with folded arms. I felt it was one of Sri Chinmoy's inner beings and showed her Sri Chinmoy's meditation photo on the table, asking if this was who it was. She said, "No, that is not the one." Each week of the class she had the same experience and would come and tell me. On one occasion she said she tried to ask the being who he was, but the being was too high for her to reach. Around this time, Guru completed his poetry series Ten Thousand Flower-Flames. To celebrate, it was decided that I would lecture on Guru's philosophy and poetry for 60 hours. I invited meditation class members to attend at some time during the 60 hours. The Austrian psychic lady came with her husband and was transfixed on a spot behind my shoulders as she listened to me reading Guru's poetry. There were several pictures of Guru around the room. She approached me before leaving and said, "Yes, it is your Master, but he doesn't look like the meditation picture. He looks more like this smiling picture." It is experiences like this that make us aware that no matter how far away from Guru we live, he is with us every second, every moment, guiding and protecting us.
