Power Of Meditation

Power Of Meditation

I was giving a meditation class in Budapest, which about 25 people were attending. A few seekers came late, and among them was a gentleman who appeared to be drunk. After a while he stood up and started preaching about Jesus. I told him that he was right and that Sri Chinmoy highly revered Jesus. He insisted on coming to the front and would not go back. A few people went up to escort him out, at which point he started showing off his muscles. A couple more people went up, and I felt that the situation was getting out of control. The man said that if anybody went close to him, he would hit them—and that only I was allowed to go to him. "Good God, why me?" was my first thought. I felt that anything could happen and perhaps this would be my final moment. I was flooded with fear. It was a terrible feeling, and I decided that I didn't want to feel this any more. If I had to die, at least I wanted to die feeling love. I opened up my heart and immediately the fear was washed away by waves of love and peace. I completely gave myself to God and asked that His Will be done as I stepped up to the man. Suddenly the man started crying, knelt down in front of me and kissed my hand. He had turned into a crying little boy. I stood him up and brought him outside, while I gratefully thanked Guru's guidance for taking care of the situation. The seekers said they had read about the power of meditation from Guru, but they had never thought it could really be capable of conquering madness. Several seekers wanted to become disciples after the talk.
